The ability to learn faster
Creative problem solving
Lateral thinking
Becoming memorable, meaning you’re more likely to be remembered, stand out and considered for opportunities
The ability to leave lasting positive impressions
These are just some of the reasons that for centuries, learning a musical instrument as a child has been advantageous to future success of an individual.
With the rise of video games and addictive nature of social media, the advantage of learning an instrument to a high level is GROWING ever larger.
And if you want your child to stand out, getting them to a high level on an instrument is going to be even more outstanding than ever before. What's imporatant it the high level part of this, an learning a couple songs doesn't count.
It's like learning a couple sentences or phrases in Spanish. There's definitely some benefits but it's not much use if you can't understand what they say back to you. You want to be able to have conversation with music and that means having some understanding of the principles so you can actually begin to improvise and have real conversation.
